As a member of Teen Core, I understand that being a leader in the Catholic Church means striving to live as a disciple of Jesus. I desire for my life to be directed to Him and to point others to Him.
With God’s help, I commit to this Way of Life:
Mass – I will attend Mass every Sunday and holy day of obligation, making the Eucharist the center of my life.
Confession – I will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation at least once a month, seeking God’s mercy and strength.
Prayer – I will set aside time each day for personal prayer - to strengthen my relationship with Christ, intercede for my family, and pray for our parish.
Mission – I will lead by example, showing up prepared, on time, dependable, and ready to serve with joy, inviting others along on my journey to know Jesus.
Witness – I will strive to live according to the Magisterium, the teaching office of the Catholic Church. I understand that our culture celebrates sin in many ways. However, as a member of Teen Core I will uphold the teachings that the Church has put in place for my sanctification, particularly guarding myself against: drunkenness, drug use, sexual impurity, and any other immoral behavior that is not emblematic of a true disciple - always calling to mind the Lord’s command:
Galatians 5:19–21 – “Now the works of the flesh are plain: immorality, impurity… drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
I understand that these and all of the Lord’s commands are not set as restrictions to my freedom, but as safeguards to my joy.
This covenant is not about being perfect, but about striving every day to grow closer to Christ. By living this Way of Life, I will allow God to work through me so that others may come to seek, to know, to love, and to serve our Lord in this life so-as to be with Him in the next.
